It«s been two years since we last saw Donny and so we thought we»d combine a catch-up with a special request from a wealthy reader who wanted him to perform a solo in the family home. We«re at the reader»s West End flat (we declined a trip to the country house) and on this summer afternoon with the windows open you can hear the traffic and roadworks of Fitzrovia outside. We had to keep the curtains closed to avoid the stares from overlooking office buildings but the red silk fabric sheds a rather seedy magenta glow over the proceedings, rather like a Chinese brothel.
